Hi,
I inherited this as part of the role here. Think its massively out of date in terms of firmware and today had a split second power cut and it didn't cut in.
My questions are:
How to update the firmware? I can't find anything relating to the RT6000
Why did it cut out? Log says
03/12/2018 | 11:41:26 | UPS: The output power is turned off due to a low battery. |
The battery seems good, but had a lot of alerts post power cut as below
03/12/2018 | 12:04:14 | UPS: The battery is now installed. |
03/12/2018 | 12:03:51 | UPS: The battery is not installed properly. |
03/12/2018 | 12:03:32 | UPS: The battery is now installed. |
03/12/2018 | 12:03:13 | UPS: The battery is not installed properly. |
03/12/2018 | 11:58:24 | UPS: The battery is now installed. |

Hi,
The battery installed, battery not installed could indicate a battery battery pack. What is the exact model and serial numbers of the unit? You will find the information on the bar code sticker.

Hi,
The SURT6000 does not have upgradeable firmware. The NMC does have upgradeable firmware. Here is a link to the latest firmware for AP9630 and AP9631 NMC. http://www.apc.com/shop/us/en/products/UPS-Network-Management-Card-2/P-AP9630 You will need SFSUMX650
As for cutting power, the log is showing battery installed and uninstalled so it is very possible the batteries are bad. The unit is 9 plus years old so if the batteries have not been replace that would explain the issue.

Just one correction, it looks like the UPS has an AP9617/18/19 model network management card (not AP9630 or AP9631) based on the fact it has 3.X.X firmware currently so the latest firmware for that is AOS 3.7.3/application v3.7.2. Look for part number SFSUMX372 here: http://www.apc.com/shop/us/en/products/Network-Management-Card-v3-7-2-Firmware-for-Smart-UPS-with-AP...

Thanks Bill.
Last question - i have new batteries - but are they hot-swappable - or would we need to bring the UPS down before swapping?
i.e. can i do it in the middle of the day causing no downtime?

Windows crashed the upgrd_util.exe during the 3.7.3 update. The version is now 3.7.3 as can see that in Telnet, BUT the web interface won't load and the email alerting has stopped. Tried it a couple of times and the same thing happened - Windows 10 client PC.
Looking to speak to Chat Support when its open (im UK based) or would appreciate some guidance please... 😕
