Smart UPS RT 5000 internal DC Voltage?

Hi folks,

whats the required internal DC Voltage for Smart UPS RT 5000? Sure, 16 batteries are used, but all of them in line, or also parallel?

Mike,

The batteries are in series. When connecting batteries in series the voltage is increasing while maintaining the amp hours. When connecting in parallel the amp hours are increasing while maintaining the voltage of one of the individual batteries.

That unit is a 192v systems use pairs of 96v battery packs. the packs have a minimum Voltage is ~85v to be recognized

I believe the RT5000 uses a similar battery arrangement as the older SURT5000. There are two battery "cages" with brown Andersons that are wired in series for a nominal DC bus voltage of 192 volts (16 -12V batts in series). The white Andersons operate at the DC bus voltage. Normal range of DC bus voltages are 170+ to 220+ during operation/charging.

Sure these packs are in series? I cant find that info in any manual :( I hoped the packs were parallel.
