Receiving an "An inverter fault exists" on our Smart-UPS RT 10000 RM XL.
Checked logs (attached) and did not find anything obvious.
| 02/27/2016 | 14:34:13 | UPS: Refused a self-test; UPS is overloaded. |
| 02/27/2016 | 14:34:13 | UPS: An inverter fault exists. |
| 02/27/2016 | 14:34:12 | UPS: In bypass in response to an internal hardware fault. |
Visually checked all batteries (I've replaced several of them over the years and know what to look for) and all look good.
Any ideas?
Attached is a photo with the battery LED error code.

Hi Victor,
Yes it could be the batteries as the problem. It seemed to fix Jason's error and I have personally seen batteries be the cause many times for this error.

Hi Jason,
The network card tends to report all faults as inverter faults. By decoding the battery LED error code the actual fault is a battery charger fault. The issue either lies with the charging mechanism which is not recoverable or the batteries which is. Do you know how old the current batteries in the unit are?

Hi! I have the same model and same problem. The battery pack (4) has more than 4 years. Could be due to this?

Thanks Michael. Even though there weren't any signs, it turns out a set of the oldest batteries we had in the unit were bad. We swapped the set out and the UPS came back up error free.
