Hi, we have a fleet approx 40 of Smart-UPS 3000 RM's.
They all have a NMC2 with environmental monitoring installed and configured. All have firmware v 6.2.0.
When a unit fails a self-test due to a faulty battery, we replace the battery pack, but then get continual errors stating "Battery is not installed correctly".
NMC interface shows battery installed and charged to 100%.
Short of restarting the UPS (which negates the U in UPS as we need to power down all equipment supplied by the UPS) how do we stop this error from occurring every time we replace a battery pack when they become faulty?

Hi Mike,
Your UPS model is not firmware upgradable unfortunately - only those with the model prefix SMC, SMT, SMX, and SRT are. Even so, this is not a known issue with what you have which I believe is an SUA model.
I don't think you have a problem to worry about. It is feasible it could've been an erroneous message from the UPS that did not "clear" properly so they Network Card continued to report it. If you still want to provide the event log as an attachment, I could check but I can't say yet with 100% certainty why you still saw the alarm (at this time anyway).

Do you have one of the log files from these UPSs that has exhibited the issue? Does it clear up after a certain period of time? If so, how long?
I have really only seen this when a battery is in a failed state and cannot be detected properly. It would also make sense to me it could occur when the battery is not truly charged (though I know you said the UPS reports it is fully charged).

Hi Angela,
Thanks for your reply. I have this morning brain-deaded the UPS and all alarms have now cleared.
We were wondering if we are getting a firmware clash between UPS and NMC.
