HI ,
I have a Smart-UPS 3000 RM XL , (SUA3000RMXLI3U).
Last week I got the red battery light appear , so I have just put in a new battery and have performed the self test , the red light has now gone and the test passed.
Currently it is saying the the load in watts is 50.7% with a battery capacity of 100% and is showing a runtime of just 6 minutes.
The runtime seems very low , should I expect more than that with this model with a new battery?
Thanks.
Scott

This should answer your questions -> Why are the battery charge LEDs flashing on a Smart-UPS? | FAQs | Schneider Electric US
Your runtime is reported as 1 minute so that is likely the root of the problem. You can issue a calibration via the UPS Network Management Card you seem to be using via the diagnostics menu but alternatively, you can also do a manual runtime calibration, if that fails, as outlined in the article.

Great thanks , that sounds straightforward.
Would it be ok to run this during production hours?, or should my servers and other devices be shut down first?
thanks,

Up to you - if you have an outage during the day during this time period, then the UPS might be discharged from running the calibration and not provide enough battery back up time. If you're not expecting any issues, there would be no problem running it during the day technically as the UPS will discharge itself down to 10-20% capacity and charge back up. No need to turn the servers off in my opinion.
Now, if this was not a brand new battery, then i'd tell you to make a judgement call as older batteries that may need replacing soon could fail during a deep discharge and cause unexpected results or extremely low runtime. This is definitely not typical though and it doesn't really make sense to me to do a runtime calibration on batteries older than 3-5 years that are constantly being used during power outages.

Hello,
have a similar problem, the battery is new and installed 5 months ago, but i don't know how long ago the alert "battery discharged" appeared. There is UPS status:
Last Battery Transfer: | Due to software command or UPS's test control |
Internal Temperature: | 17.5°C |
Runtime Remaining: | 1 minute |
Power
Input Voltage: | 226.0 VAC |
Output Voltage: | 226.0 VAC |
Frequency: | 50.0 Hz |
Load
Load Power: | 22.7 %Watts |
Apparent Load Power: | 23.4 %VA |
Load Current: | 2.6 Amps |
Battery
Capacity: | 100.0 % |
Battery Voltage: | 54.54 VDC |
External Batteries: | 0 |
UPS model is sua3000rmxli
what can be done in this case? if runtime calibration is useful in this case, how to do this calibration for this model?
thank you!
