Hello folks,
please I am facing issue with connection of Smart UPS 2200 XL (SUA2200RMXLI) to Windows Server 2012 R2.
UPS is connected via USB to USB or serial to serial ACP cabel, APC PC Bussines is installed but Windows is reporting missing driver. The same like in case of second server with Windows Server 2016 vs APC Smart UPS RT 1000.
Thank you for any help.
Regards,
Jan

Hi,
Switching from serial to USB or from USB to serial will cause the software not to discover the UPS. I suggest uninstalling the software, performing a brain dead of the UPS, and then reinstalling the software.
To brain dead you need to
1) Turn off and unplug UPS from wall
2) Press and hold the OFF button again for 10 seconds (Alternately, you could disconnect the internal battery)
3) You may see a quick flash of the LED's and you should hear an audible "click" from the UPS.
4) Plug UPS back into the wall and turn UPS back on

Hi,
The drivers are pre-installed as part of the Windows OS. When you connect the UPS the OS should report found new hardware and load the proper drivers. You may see HID UPS or once PowerChute has been installed APC UPS dirver should be present. We have FAQ FA310907 that explains how to verify the drivers are loaded.
The drivers will be found in C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository You should see apcups.inf and or apcupsx64.inf

Hello, thank you for answer. I can see both devices in there but PowerChute software told me that there is connected unknown device and communication had been lost 😕

Hi,
When you install the software are you allowing it a auto discover the UPS? If you did and the UPS is now showing as unknown did you disconnect the UPS from the system and or change the UPS? Also, what version of PCBE are you installing?
