Hello,
during christmas "Murphy" visited us.
One of our 6 UPS shut down after it started a self test.
Today I've tried to understand what happens, but I don't know how I can fix the problem.
I can cause the same problem again: I have to start a manual self test, then I receive the following messages from the UPS:

Good morning,
I do think it is likely you'll need to replace the entire UPS (under warranty or on your own via purchase or trade in) or have it repaired if that service is available in your region. This UPS does not have any components that are designated to be replaced besides the battery module unfortunately. It sounds like a problem with the inverter. Considering the UPS is not all that old based on the serial number, what is the load attached you mention? Networking gear, servers, etc? I don't think its possible based on what you've said so far but premature failures can be sometimes be related to the type of load attached or even the input feeding the UPS.
If you want to try a reset, you could do that. I think it is very unlikely it will change the situation but it is worth a try I suppose. To do that though, you need to turn off and remove any attached load on the UPS itself. Then, turn off the UPS itself and disconnect any data cables (sounds like though you only have the ethernet cable connected to a UPS Network Management Card though and no USB or serial cables - you could leave that). Then, remove the UPS from AC power and hold the off button (o) for several seconds and you should see the front panel LEDs flash and/or hear an audible click. Once this happens, reconnect the UPS to AC power and turn it back on and reconnect your attached load (if you wanted) and also check the status on the management card. The UPS does a self test when it turns back on so you could see if it does it then. In reality, I guess if there is any change, I'd still keep an eye on this but I don't know if I'd fully trust it anyway.
Also, if you want, we can take a further look at the data/event logs from the UPS Network Management Card (I shouldn't need config.ini or any of the others). Please note the data log will be erased though if the Network Management Card is power cycled so you can get those before you try the reset above if you choose to do it. Instructions are here -> How can I download Event, Data, Configuration, and Debug files from my Network Management Card? | FA...
P.S. - the reset instructions above assume you're using something similar to an SUA2200 (per the model prefix on the white sticker on the rear of the UPS) so if the model SKU does not start with SUA, let me know. Reset instructions would be a little different.

I've forgotten ... the normal load of the UPS is 45-50% 😉
