Hello,
I have a 1500XLM UPS and it generated a critical alarm with the following message: Local Management-To-NMC Integrated EM Sensor Communication Lost: Int Sensor at Int Sensor Loc
When I go into Environtment -> Temp & Humidity page, it's not showing me any information and just shows the critical alarm.
Does this mean that the sensor is dead? Is there any way to reset the sensor?
The UPS is running in the production network so issuing a downtime is not favorable.
Thanks in advance.
YJ

under normal circumstances, no. make sure not to bump any plugs in the back of the UPS though π
Edit: I guess I should indicate that the PROPER removal/insertion procedure for any smart slot accessory would be to power down the UPS in brain dead it, according to [this article|http://nam-en.apc.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/10865]. it indicates SU or SUA smart ups but SUM is the same.

can you please let us know what model network management card you have? check the administration tab, general, about and it will say. also tell us what AOS and APP versions you have from there. if it is AP9619, most likely the daughterboard that provides environmental information has become separated the main board.
i would go physically over to the card, ensure the PS/2 probe is attached, and then remove the card from the UPS and push the two boards together. there is a single white connector that holds them together that you should see. then reseat the card into the slot and see what you get. if that does not solve the issue and you are confident that the boards are securely pushed together, we will have to investigate further.
if it is AP9631, this can happen when the probe is disconnected from the Universal Input/Output jack, which is an RJ-45 style. ensure that it did not become lose or unplugged.
let us know what you find π

Hi!
I haven't tried fixing it because the UPS turned out to be in a room where i needed special access. I will try fixing it later this week or next week, and let you know how it goes.
One more question though: If i follow your method the UPS won't turn off or switches lose their power, right? As I mentioned in my original post, the UPS is installed in the production network so I got to be careful.
Thank you very much for your help!
Much appreciated π
Regards,
YJ
