I have a Smart UPS 1500 rackmount that has recently developed a an issue and from reading the documentation I'm not sure what the issue is.
On start up the unit does its self test but then starts beeping every 3 sec or so and on the front panel the battery level indicator as well as the battery disconnect led (the lowest one) and the one right above that (not sure what its called) flash red.
From the documentation it looked like this was a battery disconnect issue so I removed the front panel to ensure the battery was in fact plugged in which it was. I then though perhaps the battery was drained and let the unit charge with no load for 24 hours and I still have the same issue.
Any help would be very much appreciated

Hey Clarkson
I think I've found the issue. Upon further inspection of the battery sled itself I was looking at the interconnects between the different battery packs it there were two problems on one the connection was loose ( don't know how that happened) so I reconnected it firmly and on another there was some oxidation on the connect (again not sure how that happened) so I cleaned the connect. All seems to working just fine now. I think both of these issues explain the intermittent nature of the problem

I will pull the SN shortly I have to step into a meeting. But I have something to add. This morning I came in after leaving the unit off all night but plugged into building power started up the unit it went through its test and not problems it shows a full charge on the battery and now its running under almost full load with a out a problem. Of course no one likes these weird types of problems it makes me nervous thats it has seemed to fix its self.
I guess I'm wondering if an overnight full recharge did the trick - I had done this before but didn't get these results
