Hello,
we are using Smart-UPS 750VA and PowerChute Business Edition 8 to protect some computers.
I have two questions:
-Is there another way to synchronize the settings in "Protected System"->"Shutdown Settings" than to enter them manually at each machine?
-The manual of the UPS states that you can chose at "Turn on Delay" between 0, 20 and 60 seconds (and some other), but PowerChute only shows the values 0 seconds and 60 seconds. For some reason, when setting to "0 seconds", the reboot of the cmputer doesn' work. 60 seconds work, but that is quite a long time to wait, so 20 seconds would be nice. Is this a problem wih Powerchute, that it is not showing "20 seconds" as an option?
Thanks in advance for your help!

yeah theres only three settings that you can adjust, two of which you mentioned under Power Return Settings.
Enable OS Reboot, Return Battery Capacity, and Turn On Delay.
Sometimes, enable OS reboot is worded as "Reboot on line return" telling the UPS to turn back on when it detects AC power.

-by synchronizing, do you mean copying the settings from one server and copying the same exact settings to other servers where you install the software? like a mass configuration? if so, unfortunately, this feature is only available in Powerchute Business Edition Deluxe.
-which exact 750 are you using? I checked the US model manual, for SUA750 and i do not see 20 as an option for turn on delay in the manual. [see the manual i checked here|http://www.apcmedia.com/salestools/ASTE-6Z8LLF_R2_EN.pdf] i logged into a Smart UPS 1500 RM which should be similar, and I am seeing all the different options mentioned in the manual. I want to be sure on your model so I can investigate for you.
thanks!

-by synchronizing I am thinking of the following scenario:
The computers to be protected are not connected to a network. Whenever a new computer gets equipped, the settings for "turn on battery capacity" or "turn on delay" have to be entered manually. It would be more convenient if one could just load a setting file.
- We have a 750VA SUARMI2U. The manual states 20 seconds being possible for turn on delay.
We re-tested it today and 0 seconds turn on delay worked, do the isssue isn'that important anymore.
- Another question: If power returns in between the moment where shutdown of the computer is started and shutdown(hibernating) of the UPS occurs, then the computer won't restart itself. Is there any way to accomplish this?
Thanks again!

hi again,
ok i checked the manual for that and i see what you mean. at this point, i cant explain why its not an option on the UPS even though it says it in the manual.
to answer your second question, unfortunately, i dont think it can be done EASILY. you'd have to manually restart that server because you're right, the UPS needs to be rebooted because the server won't see a change in power since it always saw UPS power or UPS battery power. i cant think of any way around it besides bringing up the UPS software, and rebooting it so it will force the server back on. you'd have to make sure your server is set correctly in the BIOS to "last state" or something but I cannot assist with that.

Thanks.
I already thought that this is not possible.
This morning, the UPS wasn't working as expected, as it didn't restart itself after power was switched to on (it was shut down yesterday by power being cut and the computer shutting itself down). Strangely enough, the battery was still almost full (the computer is being shutdown after a short time on battery).
The UPS goes to the "lights flashing" mode a minute after the computer has shut down and goes to "sleep" (no lights) a few minutes afterwards.
Is there any way to guarantee that the UPS is turning itself on when power is restored by better settings with Power Chute?
The problem is: The power on switch of both the computer and UPS are not easily reachable, so it would be bad if one had to regularly turn it on manually.
The current settings are: Turn On Battery Capacity: 0% (but as written above, it is almost full anyway)
and Turn On Delay: 0 seconds
I'll check the behavior again after the weekend anyway.
