I am just getting started with the PCNS software (version 2.2.3) in our network. About half of our servers have had the PCNS software installed on them already, with no shutdown options configured. We have identified 4 separate configurations we would like to use on various servers. I have been able to modify the configuration, then copy the m11.cfg file to the other servers that I want to have the same configuration. All seemed to be working very well, but then I noticed one of the settings that is getting copied onto the servers is the servername of the server I copied the file from. This is displayed in the options on the left and also shows on the top right of the page. Does anyone know if it's possible to edit this? I hate the thought of having to do the config on every server, or to have to copy the installation files to do a silent install on each server.

To conclude my problem if anyone else finds themselves here; I was able to copy the required M11.cfg file from another server without encountering the same redirection issue. I never got to the bottom of why my initial attempt didn't work. All I can guess is that my original reference machine used to create the need M11.cfg file was quite old and had been in use for years. The new reference machine used was built from scratch as a test server solely for this purpose. I can only guess that the original server had a few bugs in there somewhere.

Hi,
I realise this is a very old thread but it describes the very same problem I am experiencing. I need to copy PCNS On Battery time (seconds) settings to multiple servers that already have PCNS installed. I copied the M11.cfg file from what I will call my primary server and attempted to export it to a test server which also has PCNS already install.
When I import the m11.cfg file onto the test server and access PCNS via http://testserver:3052 I am redirected to https://primaryserver:6547. If I access the test server via https://testserver:6547 I reach the test server.
I am using PCNS 2.2.4, and would like to point out that I am not running silent installs as all the servers I need to import PCNS settings to already have PCNS installed.
I am not using SilentInstall.ini files etc. Just 'AND ONLY' copying the m11.cfg file directly from my primary server to my test servers. Should this work as I expect it or am I missing something?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

sorry, i wasnt in the office today but didnt hear anything back..
but interesting..what i can definitely say is that 2.2.3 defaults to HTTPS on port 6547 by default so if you try to go to 3052 it redirects you but obviously it should be the installation on the actual server you are trying to get to.
let me make sure i understand correctly -
for instance - you created your m11.cfg file on "SERVER1" and distributed it to "SERVER2" and "SERVER3." so what you seem to be saying is that if you go to HTTP://SERVER2:3052 or HTTP://SERVER3:3052, it sends you to HTTPS://SERVER1:6547? but if you go to HTTPS://SERVER2:6547 or HTTPS://SERVER3:6547 it goes to those addresses.
Am I correct on that?
thanks.

karen,
what happens if you try to access server2 and server3 by the loopback address locally - so http://127.0.0.1:3052 and https://127.0.0.1:6547
are you able to try that?

After doing some more testing this morning, I realized that my problem is not the servername. What seems to be happening is when I type in a servername or ipaddress and connect on port 3052, it redirects to the secure port 6547 to the ipaddress of the server I created the m11.cfg file from. If I type in the servername or ipaddress and the secure port, it connects to the proper server and displays properly. The silent install seems to work fine. So I guess my new question is where does the redirect occur?
Thanks in advance,
Karen

Same result, 127.0.0.1:3052, redirects to the original server's ip, 127.0.0.1:6547 works correctly. I can just use the secure port to hit the servers, just driving me nuts now what is causing it.

karen!
we finally got this going in our lab. i copied it from server x.x.x.209 and installed it on server x.x.x.219 and was not able to recreate what you described. when i went to http://127.0.0.1:3052 i was sent to https://x.x.x.219:6547..i tried it from a remote machine going to http://x.x.x.219:3052 and got redirected to https://x.x.x.219:6547. i was never sent to .209 at any point from any machine (which is where the files originated from.
do you have the silentinstall.ini file i can take a look at?
