Is it possible that running a self test can cause power interruption to a server connected to it? I have a case where an engineer indicated that he did the self test and it looks like the server connected to it rebooted. I'm questioning whether he just performed the self test or if he possibly did a hard reboot of the server.
Thank,s
Adam

software will check to make sure certain conditions are true such as battery capacity being over 75%, etc
a self test can be forced via the button on the front of the UPS. if the battery is defective or the UPS is defective, a possible reboot could occur. also, if the battery capacity is really low, it could drop the load, which when you force it via the button, it does not check for that situation.

What's the part number of the UPS? What's the load?

I am seeing a software initiated self-test produce a power interruption.
What happens when I initiate a self-test:
The power is dropped for 1.5 seconds
Power is returned.
Machines reboot.
Very troubling.
Batteries are in good condition.
