Self-Test powered off UPS
Hi
We have an SC 620 and a couple of days ago the main LED turned red. I ordered a new battery which I installed today.
Four hours later I installed the PowerChute software on a server (Win 2012 R2) via remote desktop the SC 620 keeps alive (I had uninstalled it from the other server). Ran through the configuration, configured shutdown sequence etc, configured it to power-on immediately if the battery power was depleted after a power-cut and then clicked the Self-Test button.
As soon as the self-test button was clicked the remote connection was lost. I checked the two servers and both were off and there were no lights on the UPS. Pressing the power button on the front does not turn it on.
Any ideas, please?
Thanks

Hi,
Try to reset the unit.
To do this, follow the below procedure;
1: Disconnect any attached load.
2: Unplug the UPS from the wall socket.
3: Disconnect the UPS' internal battery.
4: Push and hold the "On" button on the UPS for 5 seconds
5: Reconnect internal battery.
6: Plug UPS in to known good power source.
7: Turn UPS on.

Hi, Bill
Thanks a lot for replying.
That fixed it. Many thanks indeed 🙂
I had left it overnight in case it needed to recharge but it was still unresponsive this morning. I followed your instructions and as soon the power lead was plugged in it beeped and the servers sprang into life when I plugged their leads in. I am very grateful - these servers control remote access and host our intranet.
Thanks again.
