Self Test Scheduling

Hey everyone,

We have a few UPS units and I found where to set them to run a self test every 7 or 14 days etc. I was wondering if there was any way to configure the schedule to not run self tests on the weekends and just let it run one during the work week. From what I can see there is no way to set that but I needed conformation just to be sure.

Don't most UPSs count the 14 day interval based on when the last self test is run (whether manually commanded or automatic)? Therefore, if you wanted the self test to run on Saturday mornings, command it to perform one next Saturday morning. It should reset its internal time counter and attempt the next "Scheduled" self test 14 days later... on Saturday morning. Keep in mind the timers in these UPSs are not exactly perfect, so you will see some creep in the exact self test hour/minute as the months progress.

You're right - you cannot configure the automatic/scheduled self test on most, if not all UPS models. It will happen based on the time you first turned the UPS. So, to avoid weekends, you'd have to perhaps reboot the UPS during the week day to get it to reset the timing on the automatic self test.
