SYRMXR4B4 (SYXRCC) Communication Card fault error XX L1 F2

Just out of curiousity, does anyone know what an XX L1 F2 error on the SYXRCC is, where XX is the frame number? I purchased a spare card because these are practically the only thing that fails in Symmetras other than the batteries and I always like to have a spare. I swapped this new card with a working card and it displayed "03 08" when booting (this is frame number 3) and then switched to "03 L1 F2", where the F is missing its top segment. All the main frame reports is "Battery Module Fault" I switched back to my good card and everything is back to normal, but before I talk to the seller, does anyone know what this error is?

Also, it would be wonderful if someone posted the complete list of errors and what they really mean. The single errors you find when searching the main site are all "reseat the card and replace if that doesn't fix it" and search is missing most of the error codes. A PM with the info is fine if you don't want to post it for public consumption.

Thanks. I assume the card drives the front panel LED segments directly, so if the card sends gibberish the display can do odd things. I've had that card in and out a few times, as well as my original card and another spare (both of those work), so I think it is just broken. I had a look at the logic on the card and it looks like there is only one A/D converter which gets switched among the possible battery sense leads. So it isn't a simple case of a bad chip on the card. So I'll send the card back to the seller and ask for a replacement or refund. Thanks!

Hi Terry. These are indicating the location of which batteries the frame sees as bad. In this case L1 battery and the other letter is an r--so the frame is seeing a bad battery at L1 and R2 in the XR frame.

Ok. So whatever senses the battery status on the SYXRCC is bad (since things are fine with the other, known-good card)? I don't remember what the other cards (from a year ago and further back) were reporting as errors. These cards do seem to go bad an order of magnitude more than any other card in the UPS, which explains why so many of the ones on ebay are bad - they're cards that were pulled and replaced because they failed.

Also, the xx 08 at boot time doesn't matter and is something like the firmware version on the card?

Edited to add: I'm pretty sure the top left vertical segment was lit, making this an F without the top bar and not an r. Also, the UPS didn't see any batteries when this chassis was connected to the UPS with the bad card in it.

Hey Terry. There is no F fault code--so I am not sure what we are seeing. That digit can display 0, E, r, c, L. If that card is seeing the batteries as bad and other cards are not then you could try reseating the batteries and running a self-test to see if that clears the issue. When the cards boot up they will show 8.8 and other characters. It is just going through its boot-up process.
