Purchased a used SURTA3000XL and was assured the passwords were default. However, I'm unable to log in with the given credentials. I am connected serial and I get the Username prompt and Password prompt. Have tried every combination I've found on any site. I found some instructions for resetting the credentials temporarily, but they referenced a reset button which this unit does not have. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hey thanks! Not a direct answer, but I'm connected and talking which was my end goal. Don't ultimately need the network connection anyway.

Hi Straes,
The reset button is a small, pinhole sized button on the Network Management Card, and not the UPS. On the older cards (AP9617/18/19), it is on the left-side facing, and on the newer model cards (AP9630/31/35) it is to the right of the network port

I posted a much more detailed reply to your post yesterday...but it appears to have disappeared.
Basically, I found the button you were talking about. Lights are already cycling. Pressed it again and it went out. Hit enter until Username was displayed. Typed in apo and apo. Asks for username again.
Are there any other default username/passwords? I looked in the manual for the SURTA3000XL and it doesn't even list the need for a username or password in the section about initially setting up serial comms.

You tried username "apo" and password "apo"? Try "apc" "apc" on the serial console after hitting reset and the lights go out.

Yes, I should have included that the second time I had to reply to the above post. I tried apc/apc, apc/blank, admin/blank, root/blank, root/admin, admin/root. I tried nearly every password combination I found on any website even remotely related to this topic.
Is there no way to reset the password without the ethernet module installed? Is it standard on these units?

Hi Straes -
The UPS does not have a username/password, but the Network management card does. If you are just looking to serially connect to the UPS, you can pull the card and connect directly. Think of the UPS and the Network Management Card as two entirely separate devices. This model does not ship with the Network Card by default and it is not needed for operation. For details on how to reset the password for your network Management Card you would want to first find the model number of your card, which is printed on the faceplate. You can then find information about reset procedures here on the forums or on our FAQ's, which you can access here: http://www.apc.com/eg/en/support/index.jsp
thanks
Liam
