SURTA1500XL with SURTA48XLBP moved... problems.

We moved a SURTA1500XL with SURTA48XLBP and now it won't turn back on. It keeps on chirping and the fault light and the top two battery charge LED's are flashing. Tried communicating with server but it won't see it. The wiring fault LED is not illuminated. It won't turn on at all without the 48XL plugged into the back. Any ideas?

I removed the batteries, and one of the batteries in the expansion unit was bulging. I was luckily able to remove it, barely, but the unit won't power up at all. I disconnected the expansion unit and the 1500 won't power up at all. I haven't checked battery voltages as of yet, but I'm wondering with the battery bulging if there isn't something else awry, preventing the unit from working at all. I'm going to have the batteries disposed and I will order new ones... unless you think there might be more damage than just dead batteries.

Moving a UPS wouldn't usually cause this problem assuming of course it wasn't damaged or left unplugged for several days. When you say the UPS won't turn on without the XL bp connected, do you mean if you try to turn on the UPS without it, it won't turn on at all and when you connect it, it turns on with this fault? If so, you may want to check the batteries and make sure they are seated properly(on the UPS). If everything checks out, it may be a bigger issue and I would suggest calling tech support.

I just found out that the UPS was left unplugged for several days... I didn't realize that until today. And, yes, when the bp is unplugged it won't turn on at all, and then when I plug it in it goes to fault. Should I order replacement batteries, or do you think it is more than just dead batteries?
