hello
I have a surt5000xli ups that will not turn on.
no light comes on when I try to press the POWER button.
I tried to disconnect and reconnect the batteries.
I tried to open it to check the voltage with a power meter and the power comes into the UPS.
I tried the soft start procedure (press power for 10 seconds) and a reset (unplug, press off for 4 seconds and reconnect) with no success.
the UPS does not seem to have life. all LEDs remain off, and you do not hear any beeps.
What would you recommend to do?
it's a shame to throw it ....
p.s. sorry for my google english 🙂
Bye

There must be a bit of 'safety' in that 85v lower limit.
I had the same issue with an RT system recently - the unit would not respond at all when attempting to power on.
I pulled the internal battery catridges and tested them - two measured at about 78v and the other two at just over 40v.
I replaced the two 40v cartridges and much to my surprise, the unit powered up.
Initially it threw an alarm and went into bypass, but after power-cycling again, it became stable, and has been so ever since.

Hi Slash,
Smart-UPS RT would not turn on with a bad battery. Do you have spare battery that we can swap with to test the unit?

Hi!
Unfortunately I do not have extra batteries ..
There are two batteries in the UPS, I tried to disconnect them one at a time but will not turn on their own.
I also tried to turn it on by disconnecting the batteries, but does not turn on. can I power onthe UPS without batteries?
thank you very much

SmartUPS RT would not turn on if there is no good battery connected.

If you do have a voltmeter you can use that device to measure the DC voltage of each battery, if they would fall below 85V DC the UPS would no longer be able to detect it. Also, since the unit has been unplugged/out of service for 2 years it would cause the batteries to drain.

Hi,
the serial number of my ups is: NS0629018908
I can see the voltage of the battery by connecting it to an electric meter?
the UPS has been stopped at least 2 years, may have damaged the battery?
It seems that the new batteries cost about 500 €, but if I buy the batteries and the UPS does not work then I threw my money ....
Thanks!
