Purchased a SURT3000XLI less than 3 months ago and on doing a search for the unit on the APC website it now shows as discontinued. Can anyone give me an indication what the differences are between the the model being advertised as it's replacement SURTD3000XLI and SURT3000XLI (other than the D)?
Will the battery pack SURT192XLBP APC Smart-UPS RT 192V Free standing Battery Pack work with both? Previously purchased batteries for another model of UPS however when we tried to deploy the leads didn't match even thought the information on the website said they were compatible.
thanks

The SURTD units use Digital Signal Processing controllers and Microlink Serial Protocol instead of our traditional UPSLink Language that APC has used in previous Smart-UPS models. This cuts down on the number of internal components built into the controller boards and improves communication reliability and flexibility. However, the use of Microlink makes the SURTD units incompatible with PowerChute Business Edition. You must use PowerChute Server with Serial/USB comm. or PowerChute Network Shutdown with an installed NMC. Microlink also means that SURTD units are not compatible with legacy SmartSlot accessories, only the AP9617, 18, and 19.
To answer your battery pack question: Yes, the same battery packs will work with both types of units.
