Greetings,
I recently had a SURT10000XLT fail notifying me of an inverter fault and that the unit was on bypass. My understanding was that if the unit was on bypass it would just pass the available utility power through to the load. Yet in this instance it seems that it was drawing on the batteries and finally shut the load down when the batteries where exhausted. 16 months ago when this units predecessor failed with an inverter fault we were forced to run for a couple weeks that way while arrangements were made for a replacement - it never ran on its batteries during that time.
Guess what I am asking is if the unit was on bypass, why was it drawing on the batteries? Utility power did not fail during this time.
Thanks!
Bob

Could you provide the log files from the UPS Network Management Card that is pre-installed in this UPS? I am just wondering how/where you're seeing that it is operating on battery power and to see if the logs tell us anything further about what happened.
