SUA2200 Tower won't switch to online state after on battery state

Replaced both batteries on unit.  Several things I noticed.

1.  Battery charge indicator on unit NEVER went to 5 bars.  With load (1 bar)  it sits at 3 and with no load sits at 4.

2.  Voltage sometimes fluctuates and apc goes into on battery (note, this is fine it has happened for years), but since the new replacements the apc never goes back into an online state by itself.  I must unplug the apc from the wall and plug it back in to get an online state.  Note: prior to battery replacement the apc was able to go back to online state.

I have not drained the batteries and done a calibration yet as they are new.  I don't know if this calibration will help.  Please advise.

I don't have any specific answers for you, but I can suggest you post three pieces of information which may help the APC folks identify the issue:

  • Exact model number (from the barcode label, usually on the back) and at least the first 6 characters of the serial number from the same label. This will let them identify the specific model and age of the unit.
  • Is this the first battery replacement on the unit, or have you replaced the batteries before?
  • Is this battery replacement an APC part (if so, please post the first 6 characters of its serial number) or a generic aftermarket battery? If the second, are there any date codes on the battery? [Replacement batteries often sit in warehouses for extended periods without being charged which can reduce their capacity.]
