Must I use Power Chute Business Edition to monitor & configure both of these UPS's? The 1500 is both USB & Serial (currently USB), & the 700 is serial only. My monitoring workstation is limited on resources & am looking for a lightweight solution to be able to configure both of these units on one workstation. I won't need room for expansion later, otherwise I would beef things up a little & then go with the PCBE.
Currently I'm using an older version of Power Chute Plus for the 700 & the single veriosn of PCBE.
Thx

oh, I thought perhaps there was a suggestion(s) based on the specifics you had asked for.
Perhaps I will tinker w/some AP9606's for what I need.
Thanks anyway

The latest Power Chute Business Edition software can be used to configure these UPSs.
However, you can monitor/configure only one UPS from a Single Computer at a time. So the two Smart UPSs can not be monitored with one Computer at the same time through the Power Chute Business Edition software.
What exactly are you trying to configure?

Thanks for quick response.
Email alerts & status from both; software shutdown from only one.
I currently have a Dell T300 running ESXi w/ several VMs, which is what I'm shutting down. Not too versed with Linux, but I'll have to figure how that will work since there's no console w/ESXi, but that's another story altogether, never mind all that.
For now I just need the capability of monitoring & alerts in a lightweight single pkg; I have an SMTP program running on the same wkstn that will be monitoring the UPS's.
Simple is nice and PCBE, although robust, in this exmpl is overkill.
