All 5 battery lights on the front of my SUA1500 are flashing. A new set of batteries did not remedy the problem. Logging into the web GUI for the APC9630 shows a critical error: "The battery power is too low to support the load; if power fails, the UPS will be shut down immediately." The load on the UPS is only ever 1 or 2 out of 5 on the front bar graph and the battery voltage for the new and old packs measure 27V and the runtime is 0 minutes.
What is the issue here?

Hmm, OK. That sounds normal to me that it was likely time for new batteries anyway. I don't think it was a waste.

You suggestion sort of worked but I had to do it in two parts. A load of over 10% caused the calibration test to fail. I ran the calibration test for an hour using only a 60 watt light bulb. Stopped the test, reset the UPS and then restarted it with a 32% ± 2% load. It finished calibrating fine after that.
Any idea how it got so far out of whack? Did I unnecessarily replace the batteries? Ever heard of this happening before? Is there a manual firmware/calibration data reset to factory defaults?
Thanks.

How old were the original batteries? Had you had an extended power outage before the events about battery power being too low came through?

Batteries were 3 years old, almost never supporting a load except for the bi-monthly scheduled test. Yes, there was an extended power outage a week or so before the warning.
