Hi guys,
I have a used Smart UPS 3000 at my house. I've owned it for the last 3-4 years. It had new batteries when I first acquired it and ran perfectly. But now that I've put new batteries in the unit I cannot get it to power on correctly. I plug in the unit, flip the power switch on the back, and press the power button in the front. The unit just powers on, off, on , off, on, off repeatedly. I cannot get it to stay on. I have confirmed the batteries are the correct type and I'm seeing 24V on my multimeter. Also, there's no load on the unit right now.
Any suggestions?
-Nick

Force it to power on using just the power from the battery, called a cold start. Unplug it from the wall, press and hold the power button for a few seconds. You'll hear 1 short beep and then a 2nd longer beep; let go as soon as you hear the 2nd beep. This should bring the unit on battery. Make sure it runs properly this way for a minute or so and then plug it into the wall. With normal AC power it should come online, though if your AC power is fluctuating, the unit will switch between online/on battery accordingly.
