SRT2200XLA phase synchronization

Hello,

Does the on-line UPS SRT2200XLA synchronize its phase output to the input? If I understand it correctly, when the UPS operates in a regular "non-green" mode, the output of the UPS is fully isolated from the input and the attached load received AC current generated by the UPS.

In this case, is the phase output of the UPS synchronized with the input or is it independent?

It’s not very clear to me as to why you’re asking this question so help me out with more details?!?! 🤔

There is no such thing as phase relating to the UPS per say. The SRT2200 is a double conversion topology system.

As such if the unit is in bypass mode it accepts the input voltage directly from the utility and circumvents the inverter circuit.

When the system is on battery only mode the unit provides and generates its own pure sine wave output at the required frequency via the inverter.

The input voltage from the utility determines the phase if it’s 3 phase. If this is 120 / 240 VAC in North America it is split single phase.

In a residential building this will never be a concern as the input voltage is 120 / 240 VAC single split phase in North America.

In a commercial / enterprise setting a room would be provided dedicated input voltage from the sub panel / service breaker.

Green Mode: You may read more about the Green Mode circuitry and the impact of turning it on / off:

https://www.apc.com/ca/fr/faqs/FAQ000264322/

NOTE: You can measure the difference in output voltage, power, and frequency when this mode is enabled / disabled.

A scope will show you the difference in voltage, frequency when on battery, bypass, online.
