hi everyone,
my UPS suddenly stopped accepting connections on http/https via local IP (chrome says ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED, firefox pretty much the same).
it responds to pings correctly, and it's online and working on smartconnect.
it show all data correctly, I can even make it play the test alarm sound.
I tried connecting with APC serial cable + putty, no luck.
I tried installing PowerChute Serial Shutdown, it connected through serial, shows data correctly, but doesn't have the capability to manage the built-in http/https server.
I tried restarting the management network by pressing up+down on the unit for 10+ secs, it restarted but no luck.
any other ideas?
thank you very much

Are you connecting via an NMC, or directory to the UPS.
I've only ever used NMC's so if it's directly to the UPS I can't offer any suggestions.

yes, I'm using exactly those settings (I also tried many others, 2400bit, 38400bit xon/xoff, and all combinations of them), all with no success... strangest thing to me is that PowerChute Serial Shutdown successfully connects via serial cable.

What NMC is inside of the UPS? Have you tried to factory reset the unit by pressing the small button on the NMC? If not, give it a shot following the online manual as to the correct steps.

have you tried FTP? like opening a cmd window and typing ftp <IP address of the unit>

I tried ftp now, connection refused.
also tried to port scan the local IP address of my UPS, ports 1 through 65535, it shows no open ports 😞

I don't have a NMC in my UPS, I'm using the built in ethernet card, the one with the green outline.
I haven't tried factory reset yet, but I will... do you happen to know if resetting will cut the power off or it can be done "online"?
I can't find this information in the manual and it changes pretty much everything if I have downtime or not.
thank you very much

Well that pretty much changes everything and highlights the need to call out what exact hardware is in place. The green port is the Smart Connect and is cloud based only which offers almost no local control or access. If this was called out from the beginning the answers coming from the members would be completely different.
As of this writing unless you pay for the endless Smart Connect cloud portal service after your free trial expires you will have next to no local (web browser) access & control. If you had the NMC Smart Slot available you could have installed the following 9630, 9631, 9640, 9641 this would have given complete local access, control, and management.

@Teken is correct (I seems to be agreeing with him a lot lately lol)
The SMT2200IC does per the web have a smart slot and you will need to get an NMC card as he suggested to do as you want to do. The NCM cards are usually cost around $220 or more depending on where you get it from.

forgive me for being so inaccurate, it's pretty hard to describe some hardware I didn't even know existed before posting this.
do you happen to know if I will have downtime by resetting the unit or you're only here to highlight my mistakes?
thank you

Per APC FAQ resetting the internal NMC will not impact the UPS. Regardless, I would confirm with APC as to (IF) resetting the internal Smart Connect will cause the grouped outlets to turn off. Even if they tell you it won’t you better plan to have the connected loads powered down and disconnected while this is underway.
