I have several APC UPSes in my home, including a Smart-UPS SMT1500 (bought in 2015) and also a SMT1500C (bought in 2018). I was able to update the firmware on the 1500 using the Firmware Updater 4.1.1 to 09.4 successfully; however, the updater apparently has no firmware available for the SMT1500C. My 1500C has firmware 03.2 and I found a release notes document that mentions a 03.5 available for this UPS, but I can't find it anywhere on the site to download.
I've had some issues including an intermittent freeze and incorrect data using MODBUS with apcupsd (I use these UPSes on Linux systems), and was hoping a firmware update would correct these issues. My SMT1500 has no such issues.
Can someone provide a link to download this firmware, or some other way I can get it? Thanks.

Thanks! I installed the 3.5 firmware and modbus is working properly now. I think we're good now.
Thanks again.

Hi Kevin
I have checked and the latest firmware that is on the SMT1500C coming from the factory is 3.5. However it hasn't been released as an update at this time. A new library of the latest firmware updates is usually released as a bundle so it maybe the team are waiting to release it with others.
Regards
Matt

Hi,
For the SMT1500C you can update the firmware when the UPS is connected to the cloud. You would select the UPS from the dashboard list, go to View UPS, UPS Settings.
If your UPS has lost communication with the cloud you should restart the network connect (see FAQ FA322105).
If you are interested in Beta testing firmware let me know and I will email you a link with instruction.

Thanks for the info. I'm not using the cloud features and don't plan on it. If I simply plug my SMT1500C into the network will it grab a firmware update automatically or do I have to do the whole cloud setup thing?
One other thing, not related... when I created my forum account, I had trouble logging in. I used a 20 character password which it accepted on registration but I couldn't log in. After messing with "Forgot Password" I got logged in once, which allowed me to post my original query... then today I couldn't log in again. After hitting Forgot Password again I reset my password to 8 characters and now it works. If there's a maximum length password the forum accepts it should be shown and enforced when setting it.

Yes. To upgrade via the cloud you need to create an account and add the device to your account. You would then be able to upgrade to 3.5
Are you interested in Beta testing our next release? If so let me know and I will provide you a link.

I am not aware of any restriction however some changes have been applied recently so I will have to check.

I'm not interested in beta testing, I just want a current firmware with bug fixes. 🙂
When going into the support site there's places for firmware downloads to go, but many products don't have them. It would make for better customer satisfaction to put them up on the website when they're available. Just my 2 cents. It's even worse when I can find release notes for a firmware update but no way to download.
As a home user I don't want, or need cloud features, so I have never set them up, nor have I connected my SMT1500C to the network. I just connect via USB to the Linux box it's powering so I can monitor the UPS.

Hi,
Here is a link to the 3.5 firmware. https://schneider-electric.box.com/s/bbyjnl2r84p1ucqk4j0tzek6fgpbzvwy
Please be sure to read the Upgrade instruction PDF and note that the UPS will reboot during the upgrade process so any connected equipment should be power off prior to upgrading.
