I am trying to set up my server (running Linux) to shutdown in the event our UPS losses power. I've installed and configured PCNS as well as the management card on my UPS. Everything appears to communicate fine (i.e. - I receive messages such as "communication established" etc). For instance, when testing the loss of communication between PCNS and the UPS (by pulling the network cable), I receive broadcast messages and the events are recorded in the Events.log file.
The problem is, I've also configured PCNS to run a simple test script when this event is triggered. Everything appears to work except for the script. I've checked file permissions and run the script manually - all works well. But PCNS doesn't seem to run the script and I don't see any error messages or logs. Since I'm new to PowerChute, I thought I'd send this to the forum and hope for a quick response.

Thank you for the quick reply. After doing a little more fiddling around, I moved the script to another directory (with different permissions) and discovered that the script now runs - but only once per event. Once the event has been cleared and the test run again, the script runs again. Makes sense; just didn't think it through, I guess.

It's great to hear that you got the script running on your systsem. And you are right, whenever an event occurs and a script is configured that'll be the time that it'll be executed.
