I am still awaiting an answer but my gut tells me it is a limitation of our website. I think they want to show both APCRBC140 and RBC44 as compatible/supported batteries but you can only put one part number per one row/field on apc.com. So, they can't list Replacement Battery Cartridge field twice. Some other UPSs only truly support replacement batteries via service technician and that is the only other keyword/field available.
But, then it causes all of this confusion
So I will see what can be done but I think then the solution will be only one part number can be listed there.

Hi,
The product announcement I saw said that: APC by Schneider Electric announces the discontinuations of the Replacement Battery Cardridge 44 (RBC44) and its replacemnet by the new APCRBC140. The APCRBC140 is compatible with the Smart-UPS On-Line SURT & SURTD products from 3kVA and upwards as well as the New Generation SRT products from 5kVA and upwards.
Here is an official document too -> http://www.apc.com/support/index?page=content&country=ITB〈=en&locale=en_US&id=FA242324 I think the issue has to do with how the batteries fit physically.
There is no functional difference. I can't load the APCRBC140 web page to see what you're referring to but it sounds like an error or is just unclear in what it means abotu service center techician. (Some units say that when they don't have end user replacable batteries but all the APCRBC140 systems do.)

Thanks, OK, so that is on the SURT8000XLI product page. I was thinking it was on the APCRBC140 product page. Let me see if I can figure out why that is there or get it corrected if it shouldn't be.
