This is not typically something that can be fixed from my experience. It may require a UPS replacement if under warranty, assuming a piece of equipment isn't disrupting the UPS operation somehow.
What you could try is removing the load plugged into the UPS, turning the UPS off and unplugging it from AC power. Then, unplug/remove the UPS battery and hold down the power button on the UPS for 10 seconds. Reconnect the UPS battery, plug the UPS back in, turn it back on with no load and see what you get. If it clears, plug in and turn on your load slowly and see if it re-appears at any point.

Have you resolved your issue? Can you explain more fully what your issue was of both the "pfc" and the "fault"?

Hello Angela,
Last night we had a Smart-UPS X 2000 PFC failure. We tried some of the procedures you suggested in your post, but subsequently replaced the UPS.
Are there an external factors such as electrical power issues that could trigger this event ?
Thanks.

Hi Robert,
Yes, I believe external factors can play a factor. I don't know the specifics yet since my expertise is not in electrical knowledge but just thinking about the potential characteristics about AC input power to the UPS there and then the UPS having to put it through its PFC process and what that involves, I imagine that it could cause a problem.
