The front panel of my SUA1000 is no longer functional (even though the UPS function still works), so I looked around and found what was listed as a New never used SMT1000 with new batteries installed. I got it yesterday. Looks new (the box is a bit beat up), the protective film is still on the front panel, all accessories present. Serial number on the box matches that of the unit. Date on the sticker of the box is March 2016.
When I plugged in the SMT it went through a short data entry sequence. Asked if a new battery was present and the displayed answer was "No". I toggled it to "Yes", and the next entry was Date. It was displaying "AUG-2013". I changed it to "JAN-2017". My question is - do the displayed values that came up reflect some defaults when a new SMT is first taken out of the box, or does it reflect the fact that I may not really have new batteries in there?

Hi Tony,
For brand new UPS, if you have selected "Yes" when prompted if you are connecting a new battery, the default value should be 3 months from manufacturing date, for example - a new UPS manufactured somewhere around August 2016, "Todays Date" should be around November 2016.
Regards
