Purchased Smart UPS 750 for a Dell Poweredge 6800 with 20A plug..

This unit does not have the correct 20A plug(1 horizontal blade on plug) on it. Is it safe to use a 20A to 15A plug converter on this or will the server draw too much amperage?

Could this damage the battery / server or just result in less runtime?

you will be limited by the capacity of the UPS itself. it will overload based on the specs it can handle - 500 Watts or 750 VA.

i think you will be fine. it will have no effect on the UPS you just need to make sure that the UPS is sized appropriately for the amount of wattage your piece of equipment requires. this will not affect the runtime of the UPS or anything.
