Where can I find a copy of the old Powerchute software that supports serial ports. My models are the:
Back-ups Pro 1000 (Model BP1000)
Back-ups 650 (Model BK650MC)
After talking to technical support, we determined that the Business Edition is not compatible with my units because they use simple signaling ports.
I'm about to give up, please help!

hi
i will reply in this thread instead.
powerchute plus was our old software but powerchute business edition is the new updated software.
powerchute business edition can work in simple signaling mode so i apologize for the misunderstanding from support.

for a BK650MC and BP1000, you can use a 940-0020B serial cable along with powerchute business edition. when you install business edition though, with simple signaling mode you will only be able to tell if the UPS is "on battery" or "online." upon setting up business edition, you would choose a UPS type of Back UPS with simple signaling and choose your COM port. you'd access the business edition agent via your web browser at the loopback address on port 3052. after going to http://127.0.0.1:3052 in your browser, log in with the username and password you created during the install and then it should show Back UPS on the left hand side and then say that its online. to make sure your communication is set up correctly, you need to unplug the UPS from the wall and then refresh the webpage. it should say status: on battery instead of status: online. this is the only amount of information you can get from the UPS. based on if the UPS is online or on battery, the software will shut your computer down gracefully but you cannot monitor voltages, etc in simple signaling mode.
