Powerchute and physcal servers

Hello,

Does network shutdown allow managing of physical servers connected to the APC? I have configured it to shutdown my VM but I don't see anyplace in Network Shutdown to specify physical servers.

What is the operating system and how is PowerChute installed? Is the OS VMware ESXi or Microsoft Hyper-V? If ESXi is PowerChute installed on standalone Windows system, as Appliance, or on VMware vMA? Also, if ESXi is vCenter Server in use? If the OS in Hyper-V is SCVMM in use?

Hello Bill,

We installed it on a standalone windows server which is also the vcenter server. we configured it to see all hosts and shutdown as needed. There are also physical machines attached to the UPS. When a shutdown occurs will the UPS shutdown them gracefully as well or is there additional configuration needed?

Jason,

PowerChute will shutdown the Windows server it is running on after commanding the VMs and host down. Any of the other system powered by the UPS should also have PowerChute installed on it to shut those systems down.
