Powerchute Business Edition not shut down the server due to power failure

Hi,

I have recently installed and configured APC PowerChute Business Editon 7.0.4 on the server. The server is connected to the Samrt UPS SC 1500 via Smart signalling.

Yesterday we received the alert saying the UPS is on battery, Immediately server was shutdown unexpectedly due to power failure. The configuration on the Powerchute Business Edition agent is When Power fails begins shutdown procedure 'at run time'

Why the APC Powerchute Business Edition didn't shutdown the server gracefully.

Attached the system and application logs from the server

Regards,
Anu

yes, its compatible. here is the compatibly chart for your review ->http://www.apcmedia.com/salestools/ASTE-6Z5QEV_R24_EN.pdf

something else that also came to my attention was the possible incompatibility between the power supply on your server and the step approximated sinewave of the Smart UPS SC.

you can try the new software if you want but it also may be helpful to remove the data cable and software out of the picture and just try a pull plug test with the UPS and server. that may be an issue and you may require a pure sine wave UPS.

what operating system did you install this on? may I ask why you installed 7.0.4 when we are currently on and supporting powerchute business edition 9.0?

i would suggest uninstalling 7.0.4, especially if you are using a newer OS, and installing 9.0, available at http://www.apc.com/tools/download/index.cfm.

also, let us know the OS and then see if you can provide any details from the agent as far as what events you have configured to shutdown with screen shots. i am not sure what event you configured based on "*The configuration on the Powerchute Business Edition agent is When Power fails begins shutdown procedure 'at run time'*"

thanks
