Hello all,
I'm attempting to install PowerChute BE on a Windows 10 Pro workstation(version 1703, AKA Creators Update) with a SMT750 hooked up to it via USB cable, but PowerChute simply can't find the UPS. Windows does see the UPS, and lists it in Device Manager as both an "APC UPS" in the Batteries section and as "American Power Conversion USB UPS" in the Human Interface Devices section.
The APC USBTerm.exe program that has been linked to on the forums here also sees the UPS. It successfully pulls the model, firmware versions and serial number for the UPS.
I've tried both PowerChute BE v9.1.1 and v9.2.1.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
MP

Hi,
Select RJ45 and then proceed with the installation. Selecting RJ45 tells PowerChute that the UPS is a SMT.

Hi,
Sorry for the inconvenience. Is PowerChute failing to install or once installed is it reporting that it cannot communicate with the UPS?

Hi, thanks for helping.
The Powerchute Agent does install, it just doesn't find the UPS during or after setup. The first screen in the setup wizard says it can't find the UPS automatically, and prompts me for the connection type.
I just leave it at DB9 and hit OK. A little later in the setup wizard I get the option to define what the UPS is, so I fill in Smart-UPS and USB.
Installation completes, but when logging into the agent it can't establish a connection.
Should I be using different settings?
Thanks,
MP
