All,
I have purchased several BX1000G units. they are replacing old BK500 units.
id like to use the software for these new cats.
is it possible to individually plug in to each unit at anytime to get a reading from the units or must a computer stay attached to each one in order for the software to work properly?
i dont have the units set up to do any auto shut down of gear. i would just like to see if at any time i could just bring a laptop to any of the units, plug in the usb cable, and read the status of that unit..
make sense?
thank you in advance for any info. im using old school windows xp...

ok so i am able to just plug up the laptop to these units and it will read them as one expects. this is good for me as i have these in different locations..
plus i had to upgrade 2 of these to the 1300 model so i could have more headroom on the load..
so thank you sir for your prompt response. hope the class was swell... 🙂

yes, i believe that will work. when you install the PCPE software though, you need to have one of the UPS's connected so that the software will proceed with the installation. then, you can unplug it if you want but the PCPE software will tell you that it cannot communicate with the battery back up, which might be an annoying pop up you have to supress. but, each time you connect the UPS, it will read that particular UPS's information.
