Hi,
I have a new install of Win7 x64 running PowerChute Personal Edition 3.0.2. to manage a Back-UPS ES 600G. The computer is a Lenovo Tiny (not a laptop, no internal battery).
The Power Options are configured to never put the computer to sleep while plugged in.
At 11:36PM, last night, the computer went to sleep. These events appear in the event viewer:
Log Name: Application
Source: APC Data Service
Date: 1/1/2017 11:36:11 PM
Event ID: 0
Task Category: None
Level: Information
Description: PowerEvent handled successfully by the service.
Log Name: System
Source: Microsoft-Windows-Kernel-Power
Date: 1/1/2017 11:36:12 PM
Event ID: 42
Task Category: (64)
Level: Information
Keywords: (4)
Description:
The system is entering sleep.
Sleep Reason: Application API
PowerChute's Performance screen shows that there have been 0 Blackout, Undervoltage, Overvoltage, and Electrical noise events in the last week.
The computer woke up at 4:59am, logging two more "APC Data Service" Event ID 0 events.
Why is PowerChute putting the computer to sleep? What is the "PowerEvent" that the message refers to?

I am 1000 miles away from this system so manual testing with a lamp is not an easy option.
I uninstalled PowerChute and the system no longer entered sleep due to an Application API. However it did sleep due to the system being idle, even though Power Options are set to never sleep. I'm making some Local Policy adjustments to try to block sleep mode:
Open gpedit.msc and go to Computer Configuration>Administrative Templates>System>Power Management>Sleep Settings
Enable "Turn Off Hybrid Sleep"
Disable "Allow Standby States (S1-S3) when sleeping
I also edited the registry settings explained here, though I don't think they were the issue.
I've re-installed PowerChute Personal 3.0.2. We'll see how it goes.

Hi,
Sorry for the inconvenience. You should test the system as suggested in forum post
If PowerChute does not record the test event during the test then you should uninstall it and reinstall then run the test a second time.
