Hi
We receive the following error report when the APC UPS attempts to shut the server down. I cannot find any reference to the error code(s) displayed.
Faulting application name: pbeagent.exe, version: 9.0.0.13, time stamp: 0x4ca4996b
Faulting module name: unknown, version: 0.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x00000000
Exception code: 0xc0000005
Fault offset: 0x672d6a34
Faulting process id: 0x3684
Faulting application start time: 0x01cd98ca44d3a870
Faulting application path: C:\PROGRA~2\APC\PowerChute Business Edition\agent\pbeagent.exe
Faulting module path: unknown
Report Id: 8288a7a7-04bd-11e2-9641-d4ae52a87031
Can anyone shed any light on the subject?
We are using an APC Smart-UPS 750 LCD, and the OS is Windows Small Business Server 2011.
Thanks
Luke.

Thanks for your reply. Apologies, I completely misinterpreted what the problem was...! The problem is actually that the server hangs when shutting down due to the APC service, and freezes with that error in the event log. This occurs when the shutdown is triggered in the normal way - by the user, not the UPS.
Do you have any suggestions as to why this happens?
Thanks
Luke.

is it possible for you to uninstall PCBE 9.0 and try 9.0.1? i asked around and we researched the error you got and it seemed like it could be related to permissions, a memory leak, or some other issue with memory.

hello luke,
i checked on this and here is what i was told: go to C:\Program Files\APC\PowerChute Business Edition\agent\bin and run shutdown.exe
The system should shut down so do this when uptime is not necessary. If the system shuts down, then run the original test again.

Hi
Where can I download this older version? I can only find 9.0.1 on the website.
Thanks
Luke

im confused - what do you need the older version for? i can get it for you later since its not posted on the website but we'd like you to remove 9.0 and try the newer version you see posted.
