PowerChute Buisness 9.1.1.604 web agent interface

I installed PSB 9.1.1.603 Web Agent Interface to view a SMX1000.  My older version of the web interface would not show data.  It requiered me to uninstall the older version to install newer version.  As a result, I can not connect to my older ups's that I must monitor via serial connecton.  Is this software version not backwards compatable, or is there a newer version that has fixed this small oversite.

PowerChute Business Edition 9.1.1 is compatible with SMT, SMT, SMC, SURTD model Smart-UPS. For SU, SUA, and SURT models Smart-UPS you must run Agent version 9.0.3. When you run the 9.1.1 installer it checks for the model type and installs the proper version Agent. If the 9.1.1 Agent is installed and you want to attached a SUA model Smart-UPS you must uninstall the 9.1.1 Agent and install the 9.0.3 Agent. The reason for different Agents is to accommodate the new features available in the new models of Smart-UPS.

Thanks for your reply.  I have uninstalled 9.1.1 agent and installed 9.0, but I still can not communicate with SUA ups's.  Secondly, With the versions 9.0 and above, I can not release com port 1 to use hyperTerm as I could with the 8.0 versions. Very frustrating when you think a software upgrade turns into a downgrade.

What I really needs is, an answer on what software version of PSB or the web interface program do I need to view both SUA and SMX ups's.  I do not have the luxury of veiwing them through a network remotely.  All work is done via a laptop in the field, DB9-DB9 or DB9-RS232.

The issues is SMT, SMX, SMC communicate using Mircolink protocol. SUA use UPSlink with is what is used when communicating via HyperTerminal. HyperTerminal will not work with Microlink UPS.

If you want to run PowerChute Business Edition you must run the installer with the UPS attached and on Windows Laptop it will auto discover the UPS and installer the proper Agent. If you switch to a different style UPS you must uninstall and reinstall for the new UPS to be discovered.

As for software that will work with both without uninstalling and reinstalling you can run APCUPSD. With this software when switching from Microlink to UPSlink you have to stop the service, and edit the configuration file to switch from 940-0024 cable to 940-0625 cable.

BTW: PowerChute Business Edition version 8.0 is not compatible with Microlink UPS. The first version of PowerChute for Microlink was 8.5.
