Power to the rack...where is the trend heading?

What are the thoughts here regarding the topic of delivering 240Vac, and possibly DC voltage, directly to the rack? The later would obviously be driven by the device manufacturer but there are companies (ie: Rackable Systems) who already have such systems available.
