Hi Folks;
I just picked up a mint SU3000 UPS and the batteries were reported to have been replaced 2 years ago. I have no way of verifying that so I thought I would charge it up fully and then do a run-time calibration.
Question: Does it matter what the unit is hooked up to? Does it have to be hooked up to my server? Or, could I just take it right off the network, unplug it, remove the communication cable and plug in any 30% load into it and run it until it's dead?
Thanks in advance!

yeah i was going to say some lights/lamps. just anything non-critical. i am not sure what you have at your disposal. is it in a home or data center? in a home - maybe just any of the available small household appliances?
i am not sure what other people use to be honest with you. 😞

no, any load that comes to 30% will be fine. it is a good idea to remove any accessories installed in the smart slot, like a network management card, and any serial cables attached to make sure nothing intervenes with the process. plug a non critical load in that doesnt fluctuate, and once its charged up, unplug the unit and let it runs until it turns off. then you can turn it back on and let it recharge.

Thanks Winna - any ideas on what to use for a load?
I don't have a halogen light and the hairdryer I just tried either shows less then 10% load or 80-90% I'd love to get this thing properly calibrated 🙂
