A friend of mine gave me his SUA1000 Smart-UPS, which had a dead battery that he recycled before giving me the unit. Before spending $150 on a new battery, I wanted to confirm that the unit still functions properly. I tried plugging it in and the only indication I got was the "Site Wiring Fault" LED on the back blipped for a half second. No other lights come on, hitting the power button doesn't work (this is with no battery connected). I assumed I would be able to check functionality since the batteries are hot swappable. I wasn't able to find any information on a single blip for the wiring fault LED. Has anyone else experienced this or have any info to share? I'd love to get this up and running! Thank you in advance.

Wwallender was correct, the unit that you have would not turn on without batteries.

Thank you for the response! I guess I'll assume the unit is good and pick up a new battery then.
