Hi,
Is it possible to exclude a VM from shutting down?
Or place it right before the vMA shutdown together with the last ESXi host shutdown?
We have another VM in our infrastructure that needs to be up as long as possible.
Regards
Stijn

Hi
How many ESXi hosts do you have? Is it a stand-alone host or a host that is part of a cluster environment?
Did you implement the new virtual appliance that is available on www.apc.com or did you install the VMA on the ESXi host and then install PCNS on that VMA?
We cant influence the sequence in which VM's are shutdown as such, but we you an configure a vApp to influence the sequence in which the VM's in that vApp are shutdown. The sequence in which PCNS shuts down is as follows VM's, vApps,Hosts. The host that has PowerChute installed on it will always shutdown last regardless of the way you configure it via the VMWare host protection page. The manual for VMWare is below:
http://www.apc.com/products/resource/include/techspec_index.cfm?base_sku=SFPCNS31-V
App Note 181, gives details of shutdown scenarios.

B

It should be a nice feature request in further releases 🙂
