PCBE setup.exe

All, I am trying to install PCBE to use with a Smart-UPS 2200.  When I double click the .exe file nothing comes up.  I check task manager and the file is running but no setup windows show.  Running Win XP.  Any suggestions.  I have tried downloading the software twice.  My goal is to monitor UPS and shut down single pc if power level gets to low.  I've went through all the help files and internet searches I could find, but no help.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,

When you run PCBE setup.exe the installation files are uncompressed to your systems default temp folder. To uncompress the files double click on setup.exe and then click Setup. To find the system default temp folder right click on my computer and select properties. Then select Advanced system settings - Advanced tab - and at the bottom of the windows there will be Environment Variables. Select Environment Variables and you will see the User variables that will list the path to the temp folder.

In the temp folder PCBE  creates a folder with a name similar to this WZSE2.TMP

Open the TMP folder and then open the bin folder that will be in the TMP folder.

In the bin folder you will find 4 folder. agent, agent-upslink, console, server

In each of these folders you will find the uncompressed installer for that part of PCBE. If your Smart-UPS is a SUA2200 or SU2200 you should install agent-upslink. If your Smart-UPS is SMT2200 or SMX2200 you should install agent.

Hi Billy.  I checked OS compatibility with PCBE 9.2 and it seems to not support XP.  Earlier versions did support XP.  Which version are you trying to install?

9.2  I'll try 9.1.1 and see if that gets it.

No luck.  9.1.1 did the same thing.

What a rotten deal!  Any chance you have another computer to try?  If not, I don't know what to tell you but maybe someone else will respond and be able to help.
