PCBE Deluxe versions

I've got several questions related to PCBE Deluxe.

My current environment is PCBE Deluxe v7.0 server/agent/console with 9 devices soon to be 10.

I recently purchased an SMT2200 UPS:
Can I install v9.1 agent on the directly connected Windows 2008 R2 server and add it to PCBE Deluxe server v7.0?
I'm currently using the RJ45 to USB cable connecting the UPS to the server. Is that the best cable to use?

Can I upgrade my v7.0 PCBE Deluxe to v9.0.1?

Or is there a v9.1 of PCBE Deluxe?
If not, when will it be released?
Can I upgrade my v7.0 PCBE Deluxe to v9.1?

Based on the information you've supplied my dilemma now is whether to buy Deluxe 9.0.1 or wait an unknown amount of time for Deluxe 9.1 to be released. Are there features in 9.1 not available in 9.0.1 that are worth waiting for?

It seems quite odd that upgrading is not allowed but yet in the Console of v7.0 there is an update function built into the program (Help --> Product Update).

1. I have not personally tested 7.0 deluxe with 9.x agents but generally speaking, we would probably not recommend it(though I can't imagine it would hurt to try)
2. I am not sure what you mean by Rj45 style to USB as this UPS appears to have an RJ 45 style to serial and a usb port but I think serial or usb would be fine either way.

3. You unfortunately cannot upgrade from 7.x to 9.x software. You would need to purchase the 9.x software

4. There is not a 9.1 deluxe released at this time. 9.1 just came out fairly recently so it might take a little while before it's out(sorry no ETA)

My mistake, I looked at my pictures of the install (site is four hours away) and I used the RJ-45 to Serial cable which sounds like it's the preferred connection type now.

If I was to purchase the currently available 9.0.1 Deluxe could I upgrade it to 9.1 Deluxe when it is released?

Generally, we do not allow upgrades of PCBE deluxe. I can check into it and reply back on monday if you'd like confirmation though. I have only seen upgrades if a customer purchased a PCBE deluxe and received an older version by mistake.
