Is it possible to start the PowerChute Business Edition V9 Agent as a web only interface (port 3052)?
The entire client opens port 2161 which uses SSL Anonymous Ciphers that violate security restrictions I must comply with. I was told that I should just use the web interface, but I do not see how to close port 2161 without also closing port 3052.
Thanks.

do you have a firewall or other tool on that machine that can block any connections to that port? that is the only solution we can currently provide that i know of. i don't know of another way to close that port from the software itself.

Did you install the Agent portion only or did you install the server and console as well?

Agent only installed on this machine.
Console and Server were installed on another system.

I uninstalled the Server and Console from the other system, but still my Agent reports on a scan that it supports Anonymous Ciphers. The problem is not that the port is used, but rather that the port is open.

as long as you uninstall that server and console on the other machine, port 2161 should not be in use and you're all set.

can you close the port server side? i double checked and the port doesn't need to be used but it is open to accept any connections from the server/console PCBE components if installed. if a connection attempt is made then we would shut it down (if its invalid) but we cant keep it closed because it would cause no communications if using the other PCBE components when in use.

I do not understand what you mean by "close the port server side"? The port is open on my Agent, able to accept anonymous ciphers, which is the violation.
