Hi
I have a old AP9617 NMC that i am trying to access. The site is over 1000 miles from where i sit and the local guy does not have the cable for serial connection. Is there a reset procedure that will reset the IP address to DHCP. I can then scan the range and fine the new IP address? I can find plenty of options for password reset but none for complete factory reset that will include resetting the IP?

Hi Matt,
Unfortunately the older cards don't have the option to "format" using the pinhole reset button like the newer ones. If the IP the card currently has was configured via DHCP and you're not sure what it is, then you can run the Device IP configuration utility and have it search a particular network segment for any APC device - you would just need to match up the MAC address. If the card currently has a static IP, then the only way to reset it to defaults (or change it over to DHCP) would be to login remotely through the web UI or telnet, or locally over serial to make the changes.
