Hello,
got a little problem with my APC SMT1000I ... i could not connect via console (putty) to the UPS. First i thought it is a problem with the serial cable, so i made my own. No success.
The serial connection itself seems to work, with the original cable and the DIY one... I can see the status in Powerchute Business and can control the outlets. After disabling the powerchute agent I can open the COM port, but there is nothing. I tried every baudrate and hit enter several times, but i do not get an answer.
Can someone provide any help ? Why can Powerchute communicate over serial but putty sees just nothing? What is the trick?
