New SMT1000 UPS and Smartslot

Hello,

I just purchased a new SMT1000. I went to install a AP9606 web/SNMP management card in the unit and I noticed that the Smart Slot has been changed so the older management cards do not fit. (Plastic tabs protrude from the slot to prevent the card from seating in the contacts.) I would like to know if there is any way to make these older cards work with the newer UPS units as I am sitting on a pile of AP9606's.

Hi Tim,

All of our development is focused on the new NMC 2 platform (AP9630, AP9631, etc), so the older cards just don't have support for newer UPS models. They can still be used with older UPS models such as the last generation of SmartUPSes.

We developed the NMC 2 platform because the older hardware just wasn't fast enough for HTTPS, SSL, and the new things we want to do with it.
